Logistics Infrastructure (Investment Portfolio III)
Port
The Agency is currently engaged with the development partners with interest in the ports of Baro Niger State, Lokoja Kogi State, Burutu Delta State and Calabar Cross River State, with the intent to finance the restructuring and strenthening of thier logistic value. The combined services of these ports weill massively imnpact the economy in regards to the transportation of goods, services and passengers via inland water ways from the Northern part of Nigeria to the Atlantic coast. This will create an inter-modal transportation system across the country and restore Lokoja as a hinterland shipping and maritime security hublink to Baro Port in Niger State.
Rail
Discussions are ongoing between The CORPENHAGEN and its partners from the UK, US, and the Republic of South Africa as to how best to harmonize the cross-country rail system in conjunction with the potential operators in the sector. The projected Rail System will conviniently complement the logistics destinations and services by operators on the inland water ways. Both the Rail System and the water ways services will link up to the proposed East to West Rail lines and the West African Costal Highway under the Africa Development Bank.
